Don't "get by", thrive!

Are you suffering from an autoimmune disorder such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, celiac disease, type I diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, or Hashimoto's thyroiditis? Or maybe you haven't been diagnosed but are experiencing symptoms common to autoimmune diseases such as chronic fatigue, joint pain, depression, anxiety, skin issues, and more. You should know that you are not powerless in the face of these symptoms! Diet and lifestyle can have a powerful impact on your autoimmune disease and can sometimes even eradicate these symptoms. You don't have to settle for a life governed by your disease where you are unable to achieve your goals or, let's face it, to just get through the day. As a nutritional therapist specializing in autoimmune disease,  I offer personalized nutrition services to analyze your unique needs, create recommendations, support you in your journey, and help you thrive.

Compassionate and driven with a scientific approach

My interest in healing through nutrition grew out of a personal health crisis. More on that here. Having a lifelong interest in science, I endeavored to learn everything I could about how food affected my condition which grew into a passion for how food affects all health conditions. I became officially certified as a Nutritional Therapist as well as an AIP (Autoimmune Protocol) coach and and love to help others optimize their health.

Auto-immunity

The rates of autoimmune conditions are on the rise. The difficulty of diagnosis means that if you are suffering from an autoimmune condition it is likely you've had it for awhile. Diet can impact the severity of symptoms tremendously. I can help you find your food triggers and help you gain the knowledge and skills to follow a low inflammation diet to restore your health.

Real Food and Bioindividuality.

It would be nice to be able to put a label on this and have a succinct and pat answer for everyone. But that doesn't exist. One person's individual health concerns may mean they need to focus on adding fiber to their diets while another may need to focus on adequate intake of high quality pasture raised animal products. Some people have a large list of medications they are taking that may act to deplete certain nutrients or which have interactions with foods we need to be careful of. Some people may even just need to focus on relaxing prior to their meals to allow digestion to work properly.

As a general rule though, I advocate whole, unprocessed, and nutrient dense foods in good balance. For auto-immune clients, I do rely heavily on the Auto-Immune Protocol Diet.

Also....I don't believe in counting anything so you'll never hear me asking you to achieve a sub-2000 calorie day or to consume 30% of your calorie intake from carbs!

And always, always delicious foods!
